What types of landscaping can I choose from, and
what are the benefits of each type?

Grass to desert: Benefits include reduced maintenance, and lowered water bill. Eliminates ongoing future sprinkler repairs, and increases your leisure time, freeing you from grass-cutting duties!

Desert to grass: Lowers air temperature surrounding patio areas, area for kids and dogs to play, and can make backyard area more inviting.

There are two main types of desert landscape to choose from:

Arid: Plant choices would include any plants common to native Arizona landscape: Example prickly pear, ocotillo, agave, other cacti. Plants that require low to no water.

Xeriscape: Consists of many blooming plants and ground covers that will provide colour and low water usage for your desert landscape. Some of these landscapes can also go with grass areas.

You may also opt for a transitional landscape, a grass with desert combination. This type of landscape is predominantly grass, usually bordered with desert type plants and permits dual usage and multiple benefits.
